Valentine cakes

Materials:

  • 500 gram FunCakes mix for Cupcakes
  • 5 eggs (approx. 250 gram)
  • 250 grams butter
  • Loaf baking pan
  • Jam or pie filling
  • 1 tablespoon FunCakes flavouring cherry
  • 250 ml whipping cream
  • Decorating bag
  • FunCakes chocolate melts dark
  • FunCakes decoration hearts
  • Parchment paper

Preparation:
Make sure that all the ingredients are at room temperature. Preheat the oven to 160°C (convection oven 140°C).

Put 500 gram mixture, 250 gram butter and 5 eggs in a bowl. Mix this in 4 minutes on low speed to a smooth batter. Grease and flour the loaf pan. Fill the baking pan with the batter and bake the cake in approx. 70-75 minutes. Let the cake cool down.

Cut the cake in slices of approx. 1 cm. Cut these slices into equal squares (approx. 4×4 cm). Put two slices of the cake on top of each other within between the jam of your choice.

Beat the cream and add the cherry flavour. Fill a decorating bag with the cream and pipe swirls on the cakes.

Put the desired quantity of melts into a plastic or glass bowl. Place this bowl in the microwave and melt the melts at maximum power (± 800 Watt). Every 15 to 20 seconds, remove the chocolate from the microwave and stir it well so that the temperature is spread through it evenly. Continue doing this until the chocolate is nearly melted; small pieces of chocolate may still be visible. Stop warming and stir the chocolate well until all the pieces of chocolate are melted and you have a uniform mass of chocolate. The chocolate is now ready to use.

Fold a cone of baking paper and fill it with the melted chocolate. Write with the chocolate on the baking paper; Love, hearts and arrows and put them in the fridge to let it be hard.

Place the chocolate creations in the cream and decorate it with the decoration hearts.
