Mix for Red Velvet Cake

Ingredients: wheat flour, sugar, wheat starch, raising agent: E500, E450, E341, cocoa powder (skimmed), emulsifier: E472b (palm, rapeseed), E477 (palm), glucose syrup (dried), colour: E172, E129, salt, soy flour, thickener: E466, E415, flavouring.

Preparation of Mix for Red Velvet Cake

Ingredients need to be at room temperature.

Preheat the oven to 175°C (convection oven 160°C).

Put the mix, water, eggs and vegetable oil in a bowl.

For a Ø18-20 cm cake: 330 g mix, 100 g eggs, 77 ml (65 g) vegetable oil and 130 ml water.
For a Ø26-28 cm cake: 500 g mix, 150 g eggs, 118 ml (100 g) vegetable oil and 200 ml water.
For 20 cupcakes: 500 g mix, 150 g eggs, 118 ml (100 g) vegetable oil and 200 ml water.

Mix for 6-8 minutes on medium speed to a light batter.

Grease the baking pan with Bake Release Spray.

Fill the greased baking pan for maximum two third with batter.

Bake the cake in the preheated oven.

A Ø18-20 cm cake: 30-35 minutes.
A Ø26-28 cm cake: 40-45 minutes.
Cupcakes: 20 minutes.

Release the cake from the baking pan immediately after baking and let it cool down on a cake grid.

Tip! Fill and cover with butter cream or a cream cheese frosting.

Nothing reinforces each other better than the beautiful deep red of a red velvet cake and the white of a good layer of cream cheese frosting. With this Mix for Red Velvet Cake you can easily make it yourself, by only adding vegetable oil, eggs and water. And do you want something different than a traditional red velvet cake? Use the mix for red velvet cupcakes or red velvet cake pops! A portion of 500 g mix is enough for about 20 cupcakes, bake them for approx. 20 minutes at 175°C (convection oven 160°C).
